Happy 2022! With the holidays being a super popular time for engagements, I thought what better way to kick off the new year than by sharing this sweet surprise proposal.
Chris purchased a Couple's Photo Shoot as a Christmas gift for Brittnee back in 2020. I was so excited when Chris shared with me that this wouldn't just be a regular shoot: it was going to be an engagement session! We discussed locations and I suggested one of my favorite spots in downtown Mobile to be the backdrop for the proposal. In February 2021, I met with the couple and got to capture this amazing surprise.
It was so hard for me to stay calm at the beginning of the session (if you know me, you know) since I knew Chris would be popping the question, but I had to play it cool and stay professional. To help set up the big moment, I had the couple face different directions and told Brittnee to brace herself so that Chris could come in for a bear hug from behind. After she was turned away and Chris got down on one knee, I told her to forget the pose and turn around. She was so surprised in the best way possible, and lots of laughter and happy tears ensued.
Chris and Brittnee's engagement was such a sweet moment to capture and I'm so thankful Chris trusted me to photograph the proposal and help him arrange the surprise. I'm wishing Chris and Brittnee all the best as they begin this new chapter of life together, and I'm sending all you newly-engaged couples a big congratulations as well!
