Who says weddings have to follow tradition? Hillary and Jamie opted for an unconventional and romantic sunset backyard wedding overlooking the river in Bon Secour, near Gulf Shores, Alabama. There were so many fun aspects of their big day that it definitely stands out as one of the most unique weddings I've had the pleasure of photographing.
First, can we talk about how gorgeous of a bride Hillary was?! Her understated yet elegant gown perfectly complemented the romantic backdrop of oak trees and Spanish moss. Candra Hamilton did an amazing job with Hillary's makeup by highlighting her natural beauty. I'm also obsessed with Hillary's bouquet, designed by Ashley Wingo.
After enjoying an intimate first look, Hillary and Jamie started their wedding with a cocktail hour to welcome guests before the official ceremony. I love how Hillary and Jamie opted to do things their own special way so they could greet all their friends and family before getting swept up in the wedding chaos. One of the coolest aspects of the cocktail hour was the on-site artist who painted portraits of the guests—talk about a one-of-a-kind wedding favor!
Hillary and Jamie tied the knot in an intimate riverside ceremony just before sunset. I'm a sucker for golden hour, so I was in photographer paradise, snapping photos of the happy couple in the gorgeous late afternoon glow. After officially becoming husband and wife, Hillary and Jamie danced the night away with loved ones before hopping on a boat for an epic send-off!
Wishing these two all the best as they enjoy the newlywed life, and I hope you enjoy some highlights from their big day.
